Bringing to light the work of queer and lesbian cultural icons such as Dorothy Allison, Leslie Feinberg, Cherrìe Moraga, Shani Mootoo, and the bands le Tigre and Tribe 8, Cvetkovich looks at ways in which queer survivors work through trauma and transform it to create radical forms of art, activism, culture, sexuality and identity. She points to the importance of also looking at the wide range of feelings associated with incest, transnational migration, butch-femme romance, and AIDS activism.
