1. Toronto Women’s Bookstore is pleased to present a fundraising evening for the International Mexican Solidarity Caravan for Justice in Juarez and Chihuahua.

Come see a screening of the film "Missing Young Woman" directed by Lourdes Portillo. The film will be followed by short speeches and music.

4. Book Launch: Mapping Yorùbá Networks by Kamari Clarke (Duke University Press)

Mapping Yorùbá Networks is a unique look at the political economy of homeland identification and the transnational construction and legitimization of ideas such as authenticity, ancestry, blackness, and tradition.

Kamari Maxine Clarke is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at YyKamari Maxine Clarke is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Yale University.

Dancing Backwards is a history of the ground-breaking accomplishments of women in political life in Canada. Senator Sharon Carstairs was the first Canadian woman to be addressed as Honourable Leader of the Opposition. She will be discussing the book and answering questions.

6. Larger Than Fiction: An evening of Canadian fiction with Shary Boyle, Larissa Lai, Suzette Mayr and Jaspreet Singh.

Join us for a special evening of new Canadian fiction. Shary Boyle will show art from her graphic novel "Witness My Shame", Larissa Lai will read from her recently re-issued novel "When Fox is A Thousand", Suzette Mayr will read from her latest novel "Venous Hum" and Jaspreet Singh will read from his new novel "Seventeen Tomatoes: Tales from Kashmir".
