Held at Toronto Women’s Bookstore

This workshop will provide the opportunity for participants to learn
about bisexuality and bisexual issues. Together we will explore myths
and stereotypes about bisexuality, useful definitions, the unique
experiences and challenges of being bisexual, biphobia, different
models of sexual identity and identity development, and the wonderful
diversity of bisexual lives and experiences. The workshop will combine
information sharing with interactive exercises and discussion in order
to promote different kinds of learning.
This workshop is open to people of any and all sexual identities
who want to learn more about bisexuality.
About the facilitator: Cheryl Dobinson is a bisexual writer, researcher,
and advocate. She has an MA in Sociology from York University. Her
studies focused on women's sexuality and queer youth. She has been
publishing the bi women's zine "The Fence" since 2002. Cheryl is very
involved in Toronto's bisexual community, and wants to start wearing
a t-shirt that says "This is what a bisexual feminist looks like"
so people will stop assuming she's straight just because her partner
happens to be a man.
