2. Peace Under Fire Book Launch
Wednesday November 24th 7pm
International Student Centre

ISM Toronto presents the Toronto Book Launch of Peace Under Fire
with contributors to the book, and report backs from Palestine and
Spoken Word. Peace Under Fire documents the work of the ISM in Palestine
through previously published news articles on the movement, first-hand
accounts drawn from web-logs and diaries as they happened. The ISM
is a Palestinian-led movement of Palestinian and International activists
working to raise awareness of the struggle for Palestinian freedom
and an end to Israeli occupation. Sponsored by: International Solidarity
Movement, the Toronto Women’s Bookstore, Arab Student Collective,

3. Poetic License Evening at TWB
New Canadian poetry with Lien Chao, Rishma Dunlop, Kuldip Gill, Priscila
Uppal & Rachel Zolf.
Lien Chao will read from her new poetry book "More Than Skin Deep"
(TSAR).
Rishma Dunlop and Priscila Uppal are co-editors and Kuldip Gill is
a contributor to "Red Silk: An Anthology of South Asian Women's Poetry"
(Mansfield Press). Rishma will also be reading from her new book of
poetry "Reading Like a Girl" (Black Moss Press).
Rachel Zolf will be reading from her new poetry book "Masque" (Mercury
Press).

4. Booklaunch for “The Heiress VS the Establishment” by Constance
Backhouse and Madame Justice Nancy Backhouse (UBC Press)
Lawyer Andrea Davidson will interview the Backhouses on stage, followed
by a question and answer period and then a book signing.
SPaHa Restaurant and Bistro 66 Harbord St. (north east corner of Spadine
and Harbord) 7pm
Free admission, hot canapes will be served, wheelchair accessible,
all are welcome to attend.

FEBRUARY 2-Week Workshop: My Funny Valentine: For Everyone Who Dreads

FEBRUARY Course: Back By Popular Demand! Money 101 For Women with
instructor Amanda Mills.
Mondays in February from 6:30 to 9pm. February 7, 14, 21 and 28. Fee

MARCH/APRIL Course: 8 week Writing Workshop: The Short Story with
instructor Tamai Kobayashi.
All participants must come to the class with a completed short story,
which will be workshopped. Tuesdays in March and April from 6:30pm
to 9pm March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5, 12 and 19. Fee $100.
